These courses were both developed in collaboration with Leeds Beckett University and we are currently inviting applications for our January 2017 Term.
The Advanced Diploma course involves studying three modules of your choice (you choose three from a suite of six options) and it is usually completed over one year. Each module lasts 8 weeks with a further 2 weeks to complete your written assignment which is a 3000 word essay or the equivalent. There are three terms a year, they are; in January, April and a further session in September. The Advanced Diploma is a graduate level award at level 6 in the UK (Level 8 in Ireland) which is the same level as an honours degree. It is suitable for educators and other professionals who wish to acquire a specialist qualification in SEN. While a level 5 qualification or a degree is normally necessary, some flexibility is possible for experienced applicants.
The Cert HE is structured in the same way, but involves completing a total of six online modules usually over two years. This is an undergraduate award and is suitable for those at the start of their career or who wish to build credits towards a degree. No prior learning / degree is required.
